A Soft Inheritance is an adoptee-led, multidisciplinary arts exhibition that aims to explore adoption.

By making a space for reflection, storytelling, and creative perspectives, we aim to challenge traditional narratives surrounding adoption, which often distil lived experiences into shorthand. As an adoptee-led project, we believe that work engaging with adoption can examine themes of family and identity beyond the conventional framing.

We hope to broaden the conversation around this complex topic and foreground lived experience, allowing multiple viewpoints to coexist, opening up new possibilities of representation. 

A Soft Inheritance will be exhibiting at PINK, Hilton House, Stockport from 12th November 2026 Until 22nd November
